Revolut alums’s Brighty lands $10M to make using cryptocurrency as simple as traditional money

Brighty's co-founder

Brighty, a Switzerland-based digital finance platform enabling crypto-card payments in the real world, has raised $10M in a funding round from Futurecraft Ventures.

The funds will strategically expand Brighty’s presence in Europe and the UK, regions experiencing a surge in crypto usage.  Roger Buerli, CEO and co-founder of Brighty, noted: “Europe and the UK demonstrate increased crypto usage for everyday spending. As the popularity of cryptocurrency payments grows—whether for business transactions, funding rounds, or salaries—so does the need for efficient solutions.”

The company aims to meet this demand through user experience while targeting digital nomads and crypto earners, a rapidly growing group that values cryptocurrency’s simplicity and cross-border capabilities.

Addressing the crypto finance challenge – poor UX and lack of transparency

Speaking to TFN, Nick Denisenko, co-founder and CTO of Brighty, explained the current landscape of the crypto finance market: “We believe that two things prevent crypto finance from achieving the mass adoption it deserves: poor UX and lack of transparency. It felt like the perfect time to address this. One of our founders has Revolut’s experience in delivering excellent UX. Additionally, the evolving crypto landscape in Europe presents a unique opportunity to establish robust and trustworthy business models.”

Denisenko continued elaborating on the market need, emphasising how crypto finance can support global workforce changes: “Cryptocurrency adoption has made international talent-hiring much easier, with more startups raising funding and paying salaries in crypto. The company is inspired by employees’ desire to use their crypto earnings in everyday transactions, motivating them to create tools that make cryptocurrency as simple as traditional money.”

Behind Brighty: neo banking UX and reliability to crypto

Founded in 2021 by Roger Buerli and Nick Denisenko (who previously worked as a Lead Backend Engineer at Revolut, where he contributed significantly to the development of Revolut Business),  Brighty integrates cryptocurrency and fiat banking services, providing users with a seamless digital banking experience. This personal finance app combines traditional digital banking with the power of stablecoins and decentralised finance.

The platform provides European IBAN accounts and issues physical and digital VISA cards alongside Ethereum, Tron, Polygon, and Arbitrum custodial addresses. Users can seamlessly exchange crypto for Euro, USD, GBP, and other currencies, send money to friends and family, or make purchases online and offline.

Denisenko elaborated on Brighty’s features: “While other financial apps act as fiat-crypto gateways, Brighty offers unique features like AI-driven investment tools for stock selection and portfolio organisation, plus daily rewards on all stablecoin card balances.” The platform utilises decentralised finance to provide daily rewards of up to 5% APY on stablecoin card balances.

The platform recently launched AI-enhanced crypto investments. Currently, AI Investment Management provides data-driven strategies for diverse portfolios based on sectors, including Momentum, Industrial, Nasdaq, S&P 500, Energy, Real Estate, and Dividends. Brighty plans to develop these features further and deliver innovative solutions to users.

Digital finances will be AI-powered

AI will transform consumer investments and finance management by making AI-enhanced investment options accessible to everyone and increasing users’ profits. A future where mass crypto adoption will be a significant leap for the finance industry and workforce, with crypto wallets becoming ubiquitous on smartphones.

“With a crypto wallet on every smartphone, the crypto-finance industry will become more robust and reliable, and the workforce will become more global. This will inevitably impact traditional digital finance, making it less rigid, swifter, and more adaptable to innovations,” Denisenko concluded.
