Kubus lands £9M investment to accelerate global expansion plans

Kubus, a leading technology value-added reseller (VAR) based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, has secured a £9M investment from BGF [ one of the UK and Ireland’s active growth capital investors] to fuel its ambitious global growth plans.

The company, which specialises in IT infrastructure solutions and works with some of the biggest names in technology, aims to leverage this funding to expand its market presence, boost innovation, and offer more comprehensive services to its growing list of global clients.

Founded in 2003, Kubus has built a reputation for delivering high-quality IT solutions, focusing on networking, server and storage infrastructure, and cybersecurity. The company partners with tech giants like Juniper Networks, Cisco, Dell, Fortinet, and Pentera, providing cutting-edge services that meet the complex needs of blue-chip businesses and public sector organisations around the world.

Fuel for innovation and expansion

With the tech landscape evolving rapidly and digital infrastructure becoming ever more critical, Kubus finds itself on the front lines of industry innovation. The £9M investment will help the company keep pace with rising demand for its services by enabling it to target strategic acquisitions to fuel further growth, strengthen marketing and sales operations to reach new customers, bolster operational infrastructure to support increasing client needs, and explore new market opportunities and forge key strategic partnerships.

Andrew Humphrey, CEO of Kubus, emphasised the significance of this investment, stating: “We are thrilled to partner with BGF and leverage their expertise and resources to take Kubus to the next level. As a business based in the heart of the Cotswolds, we’re proud to be working with businesses and organisations across the world.”

“This investment will allow us to accelerate our global growth plans, innovate faster, and deliver even greater value to our customers,” Humphrey added. “With the added support of Paul Brennan in his new role as non-executive chair, the road ahead looks very exciting indeed.”

Building on success

Kubus has already seen substantial growth, reporting a £35M turnover and £2.6M EBITDA for the financial year ending March 2024. The investment will enable Kubus to capitalise on this momentum, building on its strong relationships with key vendors and expanding its service offerings to meet the growing demands of its global client base.

Additionally, Kubus will benefit from the appointment of Paul Brennan as Non-executive Chair, through BGF’s Talent Network. Brennan brings extensive experience in scaling fast-growth tech businesses, having previously played a pivotal role at Amdaris, a BGF-backed company that was recently acquired by Insight Enterprises Inc, a Fortune 500 business.

Preparing for the next phase

As Kubus lands £9M investment, the company is well-positioned to seize new opportunities in the ever-changing tech landscape. With a solid foundation in IT infrastructure solutions, a growing portfolio of global clients, and this latest round of funding, the company is primed to take its next steps towards becoming a leader in the international tech space.

“We believe Kubus is well-positioned to capitalise on the strong market opportunities ahead,” said Edwin Davies, investor at BGF, commenting on Kubus’ growth journey. “We look forward to working alongside Paul Brennan and the Kubus management team to support their vision for the future.”

The £9M funding will allow Kubus to push the boundaries of innovation, helping clients stay ahead in an era where technology underpins nearly every aspect of business operations.

Charting a course for global leadership

With an already impressive portfolio of services and strategic partnerships, this investment will drive Kubus forward in its mission to become a leading global player in IT infrastructure solutions. By expanding its capabilities and increasing its global reach, Kubus is set to play a major role in shaping the future of tech-driven industries.
