Jared Miller: Driving Impact and Making Digital More Human

Jared Miller’s entrepreneurial journey began unexpectedly during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, he was working for an agency when a former client approached him, eager to continue their partnership at his new firm. However, Jared’s employer decided to cut the entire division and didn’t want the client, despite the $400k/year in billing they brought in. “I was let go, and I was given the client,” Jared explains. Seeing an opportunity, he asked the client to hold on while he formed a company just for her. In their first year, Jared’s new company charged $300k and delivered $3 million in direct results—an impressive 10x return right out of the gate.

The Challenge of Starting Big

Unlike many entrepreneurs who start small, Jared dove in headfirst, which brought its own set of challenges. “I didn’t start small, so I’m always playing catch-up with bills and payroll,” he admits. Yet, through it all, his guiding principle remains clear: “Family. Team. Clients. Company. In that order. Always.”

Staying Grounded: Making Digital Marketing More Human

Jared’s belief in making digital marketing more human has been a constant motivator. As generative AI continues to reshape the industry, Jared leans on his background in storytelling as an actor. “The more I see AI trying to take over, the more I lean back into my storytelling roots. The best work rises to the top,” he reflects. This philosophy drives him to push through doubt daily, always thinking about how to make marketing—and the world—a better, fuller place.

Advice for Entrepreneurs: Pace Yourself

If Jared could offer advice to new entrepreneurs, it would be to pace themselves. “Don’t go so big. Let the clients dictate the growth,” he advises. His experience has taught him that sustainable growth comes from allowing client needs to shape the direction of the business.

A Proudest Moment: Fighting for What Matters

One of Jared’s proudest moments came when he fought for a critical web app for a client, nearly risking his job in the process. “If you go to AA.org, you will see a meeting finder right at the top of the website. I fought for that app almost to the point of getting fired by the client,” he shares. His dedication to results-based marketing and his belief in only doing tasks that move the needle is what sets him apart.

A Vision for the Future: Smarter, More Creative Marketers

Looking ahead, Jared envisions a world where marketers use AI responsibly, but continue to create stories from their own minds rather than recycling ideas that already exist. “I believe in fair wages across the world and breaking down international barriers and stigmas around who is doing your creative work,” he says. His goal is to foster a generation of smarter, funnier, and better marketers who prioritize creativity and innovation.

Through his journey, Jared Miller is not just building a business—he’s pushing the boundaries of what marketing can be, all while staying true to his values of family, creativity, and impactful storytelling.
