Exclusive: Warsaw-based Global Work grabs $1.25M to combat unemployment with AI, challenging LinkedIn

While some corporations embrace Artisan’s “Stop hiring humans” message, thousands of qualified specialists face layoffs due to performance concerns or AI adoption. Rather than contributing to this trend, Global Work harnesses AI to help laid-off specialists and gig workers secure new positions. The platform provides personalised assistance throughout the job-seeking journey, verifying vacancies, automating applications, crafting compelling resumes, and customising cover letters. This approach aligns with broader AI job-matching trends, similar to Korea’s “The Work” service, which delivers tailored job recommendations based on user data.

The startup, focused on transforming the future of work, has secured $1.25 million in pre-seed funding led by TMT Investments. Pre-Seed To Succeed, an investment program for European-rooted early-stage startups, has joined the round, backed by AltaIR Capital, Yellow Rocks, Smart Partnership Capital, and I2BF Global Ventures. This brings total funding to $1.4M, with an undisclosed valuation.

The new funding will enhance the company’s AI-powered platform, which offers personalised support and automation for job seekers. Alex Chepovoi, CEO and co-founder of Global Work, told TFN exclusively: “We’re planning to use the funds primarily to expand our AI capabilities with new features, including a career guidance test to help candidates identify the best career path and interview preparation tools that offer personalised coaching.”

Creating a global hub for verified remote opportunities

Global Work, founded in Warsaw in 2023 by Alex Chepovoi and Alex Dyadischev, stands out as a job-search platform for remote workers. The platform offers unique monthly access to over 400,000 verified vacancies, with AI-powered assistance seamlessly integrated throughout the application process. This remote-work focus not only reflects the growing demand for flexible employment options but also the platform’s commitment to automated recruitment processes, setting it apart from its competitors.

Global Work’s leadership brings substantial entrepreneurial expertise, mainly through Chepovoi, who has co-founded five companies, successfully led one to acquisition, and held key positions in ventures including Expert Remote, auxilium, Zoomerapps, SmartexLab, FightRoutine, and CareerMug. This experience uniquely positions him to lead Global Work’s mission.

Chepovoi explained: “While building our previous startup, Expert Remote, we noticed our candidates struggling to find remote jobs. We felt compelled to use AI not to eliminate jobs but to help people find them. This led us to pivot from B2B to B2C.”

As corporate layoffs increase due to AI adoption and advanced development tools, Global Work is committed to using AI to help displaced professionals and gig workers find meaningful employment.

Global Work’s mission is clear: to simplify job searching for those seeking global opportunities from home. Co-founder and CEO Alex Chepovoi articulates this mission, stating, “With support from TMT Investments and Pre-Seed to Succeed, we want to reassure those worried about AI’s impact on the job market that AI can help them find their dream job rather than take it away.”

Behind Global Work platform: simplifying the job search with AI

Global Work offers only verified jobs, using AI technology and manual reviews to filter out scams, ads, and duplicates. Chepovoi added: “We’re building the largest database of remote jobs. Today, we offer the most precise AI CV Builder, Cover Letter Generation, and Automatic Job Applications.”

The company’s AI approach reflects current research in artificial intelligence career guidance. Studies show that AI can effectively support career transitions by analysing coaching data and providing personalised guidance. The planned AI-powered career guidance test represents a significant advance, helping users identify optimal career paths based on their skills, preferences, and market opportunities.

Each job listing undergoes AI processing to ensure candidates receive relevant opportunities. Through AutoApply, candidates can submit multiple applications with one click. AI handles formatting and submission, leaving applicants to simply monitor their inboxes for responses.

Regarding competition, Chepovoi noted: “Our main competitors include Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn. LinkedIn recently launched new AI functionality for matching recruiters and professionals — a feature we’ve long offered at Global Work, though our capabilities extend beyond that.”

The company’s focus on remote workplaces puts it at the forefront of workplace transformation. Remote work has revolutionised hiring, enabling companies to access global talent regardless of location. Industry analyses show this shift toward “digital by default” and “remote-first” approaches have expanded across sectors, creating opportunities for platforms that effectively connect remote workers with employers.

Building an all-in-one AI-based job search platform for remote roles

Global Work plans to expand its AI capabilities with new features, including a career guidance test and personalised interview coaching tools. As Chepovoi stated, “Our vision is to build an all-in-one AI-based job search platform for remote roles. We aim to match 1 million candidates to remote roles in 5 years.”

“Global Work has caught our eye because they’re not just growing fast; they’re strategically exploring a massive market opportunity with the help of AI. We value their commitment to scalability, as it’s a critical trait for success in today’s dynamic environment”,  highlighted Artyom Iniutin, Managing Partner at TMT Investments.

“In Pre-Seed to Succeed, we believe in innovations that make a real impact, not just exciting concepts. Global Work is revolutionising the job search market here and now, which is extremely valuable within the buzzing startup industry”, said Sergei Bogdanov, Managing Partner at Yellow Rocks.
