For over 33 years, Veronica-Joy Klepadlo has dedicated her life to spreading hope, light, and the joy of the Lord. Inspired by her personal journey of overcoming depression and anxiety through faith, Veronica founded Joy Filled Ministries to help others find healing and purpose through a closer relationship with God. Her story is one of resilience, deep faith, and unwavering commitment to serving others.
1. Veronica, how did your journey into ministry begin?
My journey began over 33 years ago when I was blessed by the Lord to overcome depression and anxiety. In gratitude to God, I felt called to help others experience the same healing and hope. This led me to start Joy Filled Ministries, a Christian non-profit dedicated to teaching people about the Bible and helping them know Jesus more intimately.
This work is not just a ministry for me—it’s a mission to bring joy into the lives of those who are struggling. I believe that the joy of the Lord can transform lives, just as it transformed mine.
2. What challenges have you faced in building Joy Filled Ministries?
Starting a Christian non-profit ministry came with many challenges. The first was educating myself in the Scriptures. At the age of 56, I enrolled in the London School of Theology and earned my BA in Theology, which was a major milestone for me.
There was also the challenge of navigating the paperwork to become a non-profit and building a ministry with no initial capital. Relying on the kindness of others and trusting in God’s provision was a humbling yet faith-strengthening experience.
However, the greatest challenge came in the last 3 ½ years when I was diagnosed with lung cancer—twice. My first cancer journey was a physical and emotional battle, but I chose to glorify God through the trial. After surgery, I thought the battle was over, but a year later, another, more aggressive cancer was found in my left lung.
Through prayer and the guidance of God, I underwent radiation and chemotherapy. The treatments were harsh, but God sustained me. Today, I’m grateful to say that my last scan showed no evidence of disease. Despite ongoing challenges, I remain committed to the ministry God has called me to.
3. How do you stay motivated during difficult times?
What keeps me motivated is my love for God and humanity. One scripture in particular has been my anchor during times of doubt and fear: Joshua 1:9—“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
This verse reminds me that God is always with me, no matter the trials I face. My passion for helping others and sharing the joy of the Lord gives me the strength to keep going, even when life feels overwhelming.
4. What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those starting ministries?
I would tell them that their motivation needs to be deeper than just making money. True success comes when our work is rooted in a higher purpose. For me, it’s about honoring the Lord and serving others.
I’d also encourage them to be prepared for challenges and to trust that God will provide what they need. Perseverance, faith, and a clear mission are essential for any ministry or business to thrive.
5. What’s been a proud moment in your journey so far?
Graduating with my degree in Theology at the age of 60 was a proud moment for me. It was proof that it’s never too late to pursue your calling and equip yourself for the work God has placed before you.
But my greatest pride comes from seeing how Joy Filled Ministries has impacted lives—bringing hope, healing, and joy to so many.
6. What is your vision for Joy Filled Ministries?
My vision is simple: to honor the Lord in all that I do. I want to continue teaching Bible studies, speaking to women’s groups, hosting retreats, writing books, and counseling women.
Jesus gave His all for me, and I want to give my all for Him. My ultimate goal is to spread the joy of the Lord and bring hope to as many people as possible.
