Vultr, a US-based cloud infrastructure company, has closed a growth financing of $333 million at a $3.5 billion valuation. The investment round was led by LuminArx Capital Management and AMD Ventures (which recently backed Liquid AI and Ayar Labs).

The company will use this new equity financing to support its accelerated global expansion in AI infrastructure and cloud computing. The financing helps further its mission to be the AI infrastructure and cloud computing partner of choice for enterprises and AI innovators globally. While enterprises will push AI beyond training to the edge in 2025, this investment will enable Vultr to expand its worldwide cloud GPU fleet to support enterprise customers and AI innovators building, deploying, and scaling AI worldwide.

Sets new ground in AI infrastructure

Founded in 2014 by David Aninowsky and self-funded for over a decade, Vultr provides industry-leading scalability, global reach, compliance, and price-to-performance for AI infrastructure and cloud computing.

It is on a mission to make high-performance cloud infrastructure easy to use, affordable, and locally accessible for enterprises and AI innovators worldwide. Vultr is trusted by hundreds of thousands of active customers across 185 countries for its flexible, scalable, global Cloud Compute, Cloud GPU, Bare Metal, and Cloud Storage solutions. As per the company, its AI cloud service, in which it leases GPU access to customers, will soon become the biggest part of its business.

“We are pleased to welcome our new equity investors as we accelerate growth to meet the needs of enterprises and businesses of all sizes globally,” said David Aninowsky, Founder and Executive Chairman of Vultr. “I have never been more proud of what this extraordinary team has done to deliver easy-to-use, high-performance cloud infrastructure globally.”

“Building upon the foundation created by David Aninowsky, Vultr has become the leading cloud infrastructure alternative to traditional hyperscalers,” said J.J. Kardwell, CEO of Vultr. “As we continue our global expansion, LuminArx’s collaborative, innovative approach and AMD’s strategic impact enable Vultr to further accelerate growth in AI infrastructure and cloud computing, creating the category-defining independent cloud infrastructure company.”
