Sessions about government transition, weather extremes and land use dominated the day.
Today’s sessions provided valuable insights into the future of the seed industry. In “Drivers of Land Use Change,” speakers explored how customer needs will evolve by 2030 and the role of policy and technology in shaping crop management. The session on “Weather or Not? Managing Unpredictability” focused on the challenges farmers face with extreme weather events, offering strategies for resilience. Ballots to Bills explored the impacts of elections on policy and discussion surrounded how elections could influence agricultural policy, with a look at potential shifts and reforms. U.S. Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary Annie Petsonk headlined the closing general session “Trends Impacting Industry Decisions,”which examined the growing influence of climate-smart and sustainability trends on the seed industry.
