Chadwick Simpson: From Renovation Expert to Marketing Specialist, Building Success Brick by Brick

With a foundation in the remodeling world, Chadwick Simpson turned his expertise into RAD SEO, a thriving marketing agency focused on helping kitchen and bath contractors scale their businesses. Here’s his journey from contractor to marketer and his mission to create a lasting legacy.

1. Chadwick, your journey began in the remodeling world. How did you transition into marketing?

My entrepreneurial journey started as a remodeling contractor in Michigan, specializing in kitchen and bath renovations. I experienced firsthand the challenges contractors face—not just in running their businesses but in finding marketing solutions that truly work for them.

Over time, I realized there was a gap in the market for a marketing agency that truly understood contractors’ unique needs. That insight, combined with my hands-on experience, inspired me to launch RAD SEO. Now, I get to help contractors grow their businesses while staying connected to the construction world I love.

2. Starting a marketing agency is a big shift. What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them?

Transitioning from contractor to marketer came with a steep learning curve. One of the biggest challenges was translating my industry knowledge into effective marketing strategies. I knew how to renovate a kitchen, but learning how to build a service-based business was a whole new world.

Another challenge was trying to wear all the hats in the early days. From sales to service delivery, it was a lot to handle. I stayed focused on my goal: making life easier for contractors. Leaning into my own experience, I was able to speak their language and craft tailored strategies.

I also learned some key lessons:

  • Know your niche. Focused expertise builds trust.
  • Invest in systems. Early workflows and SOPs saved me time and streamlined my operations.
  • Stay client-focused. Listening to feedback and adapting quickly has been critical to RAD SEO’s success.

These lessons helped turn challenges into opportunities for growth.

3. What keeps you motivated during tough times?

My motivation comes from my “why.” I know what it’s like to struggle as a contractor, and I started RAD SEO to solve those pain points. Helping contractors thrive, like I’ve done with Darrel from Left Coast Pavers, reminds me why I do what I do.

One pivotal moment was when I realized I was offering too many services. Trying to do it all stretched me thin and made me doubt whether I could build something sustainable. When I decided to focus solely on kitchen and bath remodeling contractors, everything changed. Narrowing my focus allowed me to deliver better results and grow the business.

What I’ve learned is that staying motivated isn’t about always feeling confident; it’s about staying aligned with your purpose and being willing to make tough decisions for the sake of clarity and growth.

4. What advice would you give to new entrepreneurs?

Stay focused and intentional. It’s tempting to offer everything to everyone, but success comes from narrowing your focus and becoming an expert in your niche.

Here are a few things I’ve learned:

  1. Embrace mistakes. They’re the best teachers. Learn, adjust, and keep moving forward.
  2. Build systems early. SOPs and workflows save time and make scaling easier.
  3. Find your “why.” Knowing your purpose will keep you going through tough times.

And don’t forget to take care of yourself. Entrepreneurship is demanding, so prioritize your well-being and lean on a support system when you need it.

5. What’s been a proud moment in your journey?

One of the proudest moments has been helping Darrel from Left Coast Pavers scale his business. When he first came to us, he wanted to stand out in a competitive market. Through tailored marketing strategies, we helped him achieve incredible growth. Recently, he shared a video testimonial saying he’s busier than ever—even as other contractors are slowing down.

Moments like these remind me why I started RAD SEO. Seeing our clients not just survive but thrive is deeply rewarding and motivates me to keep pushing for better results.

6. What’s your vision for the future of RAD SEO?

Our immediate goal is to become a seven-figure agency within the next two years. We’ve hit six figures and are building the momentum to take that next big leap.

For our clients, the vision is to replicate the success we’ve had with businesses like Left Coast Pavers. We want contractors across the U.S. to scale their businesses, stay busy year-round, and achieve the kind of growth they’ve dreamed of.

On a personal level, my vision is to create a legacy for my six children. I want them to see that hard work and focus can build something meaningful and lasting. We’re also working on writing our first book and attending trade shows to establish RAD SEO as the go-to marketing partner for contractors nationwide.

7. Beyond business, what impact do you hope to make?

While helping contractors grow is my primary focus, I want to use RAD SEO’s success to give back to causes close to my heart. My wife and father are both veterans, and their service inspires me to support the veteran community. One of our long-term goals is to provide resources and support for homeless veterans.

Our church is also undergoing a building project, and I’d love to contribute more significantly to that effort. Through RAD SEO, I hope to create the financial freedom and time to invest in these meaningful causes, leaving a legacy of generosity and care.
