Liz Hunt’s entrepreneurial journey began at age 26 when she founded DayCloud Studios, a branding agency that has grown far beyond her original vision. Over the past decade, Liz has led a talented creative team, launched countless brands, and mentored other entrepreneurs on their paths to success. As a designer, entrepreneur, and speaker, Liz has dedicated her career to turning creativity into a tangible force for good and helping others step into their full potential.
“DayCloud is about more than just branding; it’s about crafting meaningful connections and empowering people to tell their stories authentically,” Liz shares. “Every project we take on is an opportunity to help businesses and entrepreneurs thrive.”
Building Credibility and Earning Trust
When Liz started DayCloud, earning trust in a competitive, agency-dominated market was a significant challenge. “As a young, female entrepreneur, I often felt like I had to prove myself,” she says. “I leaned into the work, focused on delivering value, and built authentic relationships with my clients.”
Through persistence and resilience, Liz embraced vulnerability as a strength. “Progress isn’t about giant leaps; it’s about showing up every day, doing the work, and trusting the process.”
Finding Motivation During Tough Times
For Liz, the freedom of entrepreneurship has always outweighed its challenges. “The fear of working for someone else is scarier to me than the fear of failing,” she reflects. “Entrepreneurship gives me the freedom to choose my future, fail, explore, and succeed on my own terms.”
There were times when doubt nearly broke her. “I thought about the people relying on me—my team, the jobs I created, and those who saw me as a role model. Knowing they believed in me kept me going,” Liz recalls. “I dug my heels in, faced the tough days, and eventually, they didn’t feel so tough anymore.”
Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Liz’s advice for new entrepreneurs is rooted in adaptability and boldness. “Don’t try to control or assume your outcomes. Starting a business is about constant evolution and aligning with your talents and strengths as they grow,” she says.
She also stresses the importance of listening. “Really hear what your customers, team, and instincts are telling you. And when it’s time to act, commit fully—don’t look back.”
Celebrating Milestones and Expanding Horizons
One of Liz’s proudest moments was celebrating DayCloud’s ten-year anniversary. “Reaching that milestone was a testament to the hard work and passion that built this agency,” she shares. “Every year since has been another chapter in a story I’m endlessly proud to keep writing.”
Looking ahead, Liz is focused on creating a nonprofit initiative to support professional creatives. “We’re building a space where creatives—videographers, marketers, musicians, architects, and more—can connect, learn, and grow together,” she explains. Through workshops, events, and small groups, the initiative aims to combat the isolation many creatives face while fostering a vibrant community.
Liz also plans to launch Agency Rocket Academy, an extension of the podcast she’s been developing. “The Academy will provide courses for small businesses and entrepreneurs, sharing the lessons we’ve refined at DayCloud Studios to help others create thriving brands.”
Empowering Others Through Connection and Creativity
Liz’s vision is to empower others to find their voices, own their stories, and create with intention. “Success is just as much about building community and connection as it is about building brands,” she emphasizes.
Through mentorship, collaboration, and creativity, Liz hopes to inspire others to rise to their full potential. “If I can help even a handful of people see what’s possible for them and step into it, I’ll consider my work a success.”
